The precise identification of particular cable from a bunch is a common problem faced by technicians and cable jointers in everyday practice.
With new cable identification instrument ¡°CI -60¡± it is possible to precisely identify not only multiple core cables but also single core and co-ax cables.
The cable identification set ¡°CI -60¡± consists of a mains operated generator, identification tong and an indication instrument. Saw toothed impulses from the generator are fed into the cable to be identified.
Depending on the direction in which the tongs ¡±TR 100¡± is applied, this impulse gives rise to a DC current impulse the direction of which is indicated on the Pulse Receiver ¡°PR-6¡±.
In the case of inductive or capacitive coupling of neighbouring cables, or return currents via neighbouring sheaths, the receiver indicates a different polarity accompanied by a perceptible reduction of the indicated readings.
The impulse sequence is 2.5 sec. If required, a special code can be switched on, which has the following characteristics, 2 impulses in 2.5 secs. Intervals and thereafter 3 impulses in 1 sec. Intervals.
In addition to the perception of the periodicity, the indication values are dissimilar because of the shorter time constants, thereby facilitating the selection
